Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Polvio account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to do that both from inside the app and without the app, and describes exactly what is deleted and what may be retained.

1. Delete your account from within the app

The fastest way to delete your account:

1. Open the Polvio app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Under Your Privacy Choices, tap Delete My Account.
4. Confirm by typing “Delete Account” and re-entering your password.

This action is irreversible. Your account and personal data are removed immediately, and any remaining copies are purged within 30 days.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer access the app, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days, then confirm by email.

3. What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• Your account information (email address and display name).
• Your political profile and onboarding questionnaire responses.
• Your comments and discussion posts.
• Your followed politicians, bookmarks, votes, and saved summaries.
• Your feed personalization, country selections, and preferences.
• Your notification settings and push notification tokens.

4. What may be retained

We may retain a limited amount of information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, and only for as long as necessary. Anonymized, aggregated analytics that can no longer be linked to you may be retained indefinitely. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

5. Delete only some of your data

You don’t need to delete your whole account to remove specific data. Without closing your account, you can:

• Reset your political profile in Settings — this erases your political compass answers and feed personalization.
• Unfollow politicians and remove saved bookmarks at any time, which deletes those records.

For any other request to delete part of your data, email [email protected] describing what you’d like removed, and we will process it within 30 days.
